A Frustrating Day of Wood and Whimsy

Spent the day chasing splinters and shadows. Had a grand time exploring the wilds, finding a few interesting nooks and crannies. My luck soured when I tried my hand at carpentry. Needed to craft some barrel staves, but the lumber just wouldn't cooperate.

I must have wandered into Britain's north and east forests a dozen times, but the trees were either bare or mocking me. Every time I swung my axe, I came up short. Four pieces of wood. That's all I needed! The gods of forestry were not smiling upon me today.

Back to the drawing board, I suppose. The ale will have to wait.
