A Day of Splinters and Sorrow

Spent the whole cursed day chasing wood. Wanted to craft some fine Barrel Staves. The forest east of Britain? Impassable thorns. The north forest? Twice I tried, twice some beast or bog turned me back. In between, my axe was dull and my hands were clumsy. Not a single stave to show for it.

But my wanderings were not in vain! Found a quiet glade, a hidden cairn, and a lovely view of the lake. So, a day of small discoveries, but my keg remains empty.

Back to it tomorrow. The trees won't win.
