A Day of Wood and Wandering

Greetings, friends. Bjorn here. Today was... a test of patience. I spent most of it chasing trees that seemed to flee before me. The forests near Britain are either cursed or I am. Three separate attempts to even find a decent grove ended with me staring at my own boot prints in a circle.

When I finally did get some wood, the plan was simple: craft some barrel staves. Simple. Ha! My hammer and saw became instruments of frustration. Splintered wood and bent nails were my only creations. Four times I tried. Four!

The only victories came from putting the whole mess aside and just walking. Found a nice glen east of the city, spotted a rare blue heron, and cleared a small den of pesky giant rats. So, not a total loss. But if anyone needs a man who is excellent at getting lost and breaking lumber, I'm your Nord.
