Spent the whole afternoon at the forge in Minoc, trying to get the temper right on a new batch of plate gorgets. Must've ruined five in a row before I finally gave up in disgust—my arm's still aching from the hammer. At least the ore run to the mountains near Vesper yesterday went well; my pack's still heavy with good iron. Guess I'll just melt the failures down tomorrow and try again.
