Greetings, mates. Bjorn here. Today's grand ambition: craft some simple barrel staves. The plan was sound. The execution... less so.
Spent the better part of the day playing a fool's game with the forests of Britain. I'd get a splinter of inspiration, head out for wood, and get hopelessly turned around. North Forest, East Forest, back to North Forest... I think the trees are moving when I'm not looking. Managed to stumble upon a nice clearing once, which was a welcome break from the crushing failure of my carpentry attempts.
Final tally: a sore back, a bruised ego, and exactly zero barrel staves. Still four pieces of wood short. The quest continues tomorrow. Perhaps I should just buy a barrel.
